築，採與美國太空總署（NASA）同等級且是亞洲住宅建築有史以來最大
的隔震墊，同時使用日本晴空塔的超高強度鋼材，使其能抵抗2,500年的
地震回歸週期的最大震度。耗時超過三年，打造約6,600平方米的生態庭
園、庭園10米高的自然瀑布，產生對身體有益的芬多精，盛夏時節氣溫可
比外界低8-9度。6台風力發電、太陽能板及超量雨水回收等再生能源規

100 米高的陶朱隱園是一座與眾不同的建築。透過巧思的設計將 21
層高的高樓旋轉 90 度，該建築騰出了 10,000 平方米的綠化空間。但首
先，該團隊必須克服旋轉建築施工上的困難，而且足夠堅固，可以抵禦
頻繁發生的自然災害，然後挑戰高樓層種樹的抗風、陽光、澆灌、維養等
問題。
在著名結構工程師和世界級建築團隊的努力下，這座令人大開眼界
的建築實現了永續住房的夢想。許多最先進的設計被納入使建築面向未

situated in Taipei’s Xinyi District, and is noted for design
concepts that incorporate “Carbon Absorption and
Anti-global Warming,” “Vertical Forest,” and “Artistic
Heritage.” It was previously selected by CNN as one of
T the nine global new urban landmarks and has achieved
LEED PLATINUM certification. Tao Zhu Yin Yuan was designed as
a sustainable building in response to climate change, and features
seismic isolation pads comparable to those used by NASA, with the
laudable title of the largest seismic isolation system ever used in a
residential building in Asia. Additionally, it utilizes ultra-high-strength
steel of the same grade as those used in Tokyo Skytree, enabling it to
withstand the maximum seismic intensity of a 2,500-year earthquake
return period. Taking over three years to complete, the project involves
creating an approximately 6,600 square meter ecological courtyard
garden with a natural waterfall that stands 10 meters high. Thanks
to a design that incorporates six wind turbines, solar panels, and
extensive rainwater harvesting to achieve a self-sustaining state, the
waterfall can generate health-benefiting negative ions; during the
peak of summer, the temperature can be 8-9 degrees Celsius cooler
compared to the outside. Discovery Channel even featured the building
extensively in their new show “Building Icons: TAO ZHU YIN YUAN,”
which explored the building’s architectural structure, energy-efficient
features, carbon reduction efforts, and humanistic values.

The 100-meter-tall Tao Zhu Yin Yuan is a building like no other. By
turning the tower 90 degrees over its 21 floors, the building frees up
10,000 square meters of space for greenery. But first, the team must
overcome the challenges in the construction of the gravity-defying
rotating building and prove that it is not only buildable but robust
enough to fend off the natural disasters that frequent the island
before they can grow the man-made forest. Then confront other issues
of planting trees on high floors, such as wind resistance, watering,
getting enough sunlight, and maintenance.
Supported by a renowned structural engineer and a world-class
construction team, the movers and shakers behind the eye-opening
architecture spare no effort to realize their dream of sustainable
housing. Many state-of-the-art designs are incorporated to make the
building future-proof, and an eco-garden is created to cement the
developer’s vision. If they succeed, they will provide solutions to the
much-debated development versus conservation conundrum and bring
the world one step closer to a more sustainable future.
