SOTHEBY’S STRIKES t was one for the books with the US$157

million sale of Modigliani’s Nu Couché in the
Impressionist & Modern Evening sale, becoming
the most expensive artwork auctioned in
NEW RECORDS I Sotheby’s history and leading off what would
be a billion-dollar week in New York this May.
The auction saw active participation from Asia,
with a quarter of all sold works that evening
went to collectors in this region. Two days later,
a feverish Contemporary Art Evening auction

million and 15 new auction records set.

紐約蘇富比5月舉行的多場拍賣會氣氛熾熱，成
績驕人！5月14日舉行的「印象派及現代藝術晚
拍」首先創出紀錄，以蘇富比史上最高成交價
1.57億美元拍出莫迪里安尼的《向左側卧的裸
女》。當晚亞洲藏家踴躍參與，1/4 拍品由亞洲買
家投得。兩日後，「當代藝術晚拍」再接再厲，錄
得高達2.84億美元之成交總額，同時刷新15項新
世界拍賣紀錄。
