Kowloon Tong
Just a few minutes north of bustling Tsim Sha Tsui sits the charming district, Kowloon Tong. Originally known as the “garden city”, Kowloon Tong was created in the early 1900s to satisfy the need for larger housing that was either unavailable or unaffordable on overly populated Hong Kong island at the time. By then, Kowloon Tong was a small, yet slowly growing community of large, gated family homes on wide tree-lined avenues. The prestigious local and international schools located here such as Yew Chung School and the American, Canadian, and Australian International Schools, have also fueled Kowloon Tong’s popularity among both Hong Kong and expatriate families. Outdoor enthusiasts will rejoice at the number of beautiful parks in Kowloon Tong, including children’s playgrounds and recreational centers. There are also several surrounding amenities and shopping opportunities on nearby avenues or commercial shopping areas like Festival Walk and if this does not suffice, the nearby Kowloon Tong MTR offers quick transport to neighboring Tsim Sha Tsui.
